BOMA Gross Leasable Area (GLA) is the standard metric used in retail and mixed-use properties to measure the total floor area designed for tenant occupancy and exclusive use. Measured from the center of joint partitions and to the outside of exterior walls, GLA is the basis for rent calculations in shopping centers and strip malls.
