Big columns surrounded by walls

Hello
I have this situation from 1 customer
They rent a little space in a shoping mall and they have columns in a corner
Columns are covered-surrounded by walls and have an area 6 m2 from 32 m2 they rented
Owner of space put this zone ( zone with big columns covered by walls) inside GLA and
put in contract to pay for these
Is this OK in terms of BOMA retail?
Can we consider this area as Non- Leasable area? ( is surrounded by walls and is not inside tenant space)

Please let me know!

Hi Gabriel,

The BOMA Retail standard ignores columns and any wall finishes that cover them. In reading your description, I believe that the entire area would be included in the Tenant's Gross Leasable Area.

Thanks,
David
