Is a detached generator enclosure at grade (no roof and no access from the interior space) excluded from the calculations? The enclosure has (2) generators. One for a tenant on Level 1 and one for a tenant on Level 3.

Hi Doug,
In BOMA 2017, those areas are not included in the calculations; however, using the latest BOMA 2024 Office Standards, they could be included under the "Unenclosed Areas / Unenclosed Occupant Service Areas" Boundary Condition and then designated to the Space Classification "Non-Allocated Tenant Area". The areas would be included as Rentable Area but would not receive a proportionate share of any common areas.
