Unenclosed Tenant Areas (no load) vs. Unenclosed Occupant Amenity Areas

Hi There,
In reading through the latest 2024 Office BOMA standard and referencing the 5.1 Inter-Allocated Areas - Method A summary on page 114, I am a bit confused on how the 'Suite 200 Balcony' is allocated. My understanding of the tenant private balcony is that it should be an 'Unenclosed Tenant Area' and therefore should not have a load and placed under the 'Non-Allocated Tenant Area' column. But the summary shown on page 114 of the standard book has the Suite 200 Balcony under 'Tenant Usable Area. If it was an 'Unenclosed Occupant Amenity Area' I would understand the load inclusion, but its not that either. Can you help in elaborate this?

Thank you and appreciate the insight.

Hi Sopheap,

Thanks for pointing this out as it appears to be a mistake. We will be correcting the description or removing that row since "Suite 200 Balcony" would be a Non-Allocated Tenant Area.

An updated copy will be sent to BOMA International.

Thanks,
David

I have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out what I was missing here. Glad to know it was just an error. Thanks for asking the question Sopheap, and for answering David! This site has been such a resource to me over the years.
