Interstitial Space Above Clean Rooms

Can the Interstitial space, or walkable ceiling areas above clean rooms (used for nothing more than service of mechanicals) be included in RSF calculations per BOMA?

Hi Tucker,

Interstitial Space is generally excluded from the Boundary Area; however, The BOMA 2017 Office Standard states:

If the Interstitial Space has adequate headroom and provisions for egress and contains services that would otherwise require dedicated floor space, it may constitute, in whole or in part, a Floor or Mezzanine, in which case it would be included in the Boundary Area.

Thanks,
David
