Dictating Gross Vs Net Methods

I understand that there are 3 types of methods that can be utilized for the allocation of Square foot areas within rental dwelling units.

What dictates which method should be utilized for calculating rentable area. We have had certain financing entities dictate a certain method, but if there is no financing entity dictating a certain method what would be the standard or required method?

Hi Cole,

There is no standard or required method. The standard includes the most common methods but there is no default. The methodology chosen might vary from region to region and also vary based on what the areas are being used for.

Thanks,
David
