Recessed Entry

Are recessed Entrances included in the Rentable Area if applying 2012 Industrial Method A?
The Illustration A1 shows it included, but the definitions of Measure Line(pg 30) and Overhang (pg 31) seem to exclude it.

Hi Melinda,

The unenclosed area of the recessed entrance should not be included in the Rentable Area using the BOMA 2012 Industrial Standard. When there are inconsistencies between text and illustrations, the text overrides the illustrations. We recommend using the latest BOMA 2019 Industrial Standard to avoid these discrepancies.

Thanks,
David
