Our office uses Facility Management Software based on the BOMA standard. What is the difference between Building Common space and Building Shared space?

What is the difference between Floor Common Space and Floor Common space?

Can you provide examples of each?

Hi AnnMarie,

It sounds like your software is referring to the BOMA 1996 standard, which incorporates floor common area and building common area.

Floor Common Areas are spaces on a floor that serve every tenant on that same floor, such as washrooms, janitor closets and corridors.

Building Common Areas are spaces anywhere in a building that serve every tenant in the building, such as lobbies, building mechanical rooms, fire control rooms, etc.
