2 Building Complex

We have a 2 building complex. There is amenity space in one of the buildings, which is also open to the tenants in the other building. The two buildings are connected by an underground garage as well as a covered walkway between them on the ground level.
The building owner would like for use to prepare a single chart for both buildings, that they can later pull apart into two charts, but still use the same factor for each building. We have suggested creating the single chart and also two separate charts for them to see the difference.
Can you advise on a better method?

Hi Elisabeth,

The BOMA 2017 standard provides a methodology for calculating multi-building complexes using Inter-Building Area. Each building should have its own distinct chart. The charts are connected by a separate spreadsheet, known as the Inter-Building Area Allocations (IBAA) spreadsheet. The IBAA spreadsheet calculates the proportionate share allocations of amenity areas and service areas (known as Inter-Building Areas) that provide a benefit to a specific group of tenants or all of the tenants in a complex. I hope this helps.

Thanks,
David
