Capped Load Factors

Divya Mathew

Is the Capped Load Factor assigned arbitrarily or is there a method to calculating the capped load factor? Are there any examples (such as charts, tables) for how Capped Load Factors are applied on a occupant-by-occupant basis (as opposed to floor-by-floor)?

Hi Divya,

The Capped Load Factor is arbitrary as far as the standard is concerned, but normally it is applied according to some agreement between the lessee and lessor or preemptively by the Landlord. The capped Load Factor must be lower than the Actual Gross-up. The Capped Load Factor is simply the Occupant Area x the Capped Load factor. The standard provides instructions in Section 5.4 of the document.

Thanks,
