Wall priority question

Steve Orser

We're confused on your pg 25 diagram and explanation of wall priority between Unenclosed Occupant Circulation and tenant space. If the external corridor is FS or BBC, should the full wall thickness be allocated to the corridor, or just to the dominant portion? Should the tenant space extend to the dominant portion of a wall, and the balance of that wall as part of the external corridor?

Hi Steve,

You should establish Tenant Area like you would regardless of the Unenclosed Occupant Circulation, using the relevant Boundary Condition(s)(usually Dominant Portion). Where Unenclosed Occupant Circulation is adjacent to Tenant Area, it will butt up directly with the Tenant Area.

Unenclosed Occupant Circulation should have no impact on Tenant Area.

Thanks,
David
