Shipping docks in IPMS

Are shipping docks (débarcadères) included in Workspace, Amenities, or another area type in IPMS standard?

Thanks!

Dominic

Following my question from yesterday, I have another:
The office, wc and storage space allocated for Building Operations & Management should be treated like any other space or as a special category (other)?

I have the IPMS standard PDF with me, but the spaces examples are really summarized... Is there another document with more explanations or examples that I could access?

Thanks again.

Hi Dominic,

Shipping docks would be included in IPMS 1 and IPMS 2 under the Component Area H "Other Areas" as long as they are fully enclosed. Otherwise, unenclosed shipping areas would not be included.

Office, WC and Storage withing a building operations and management area would be generally categorized under Component Area C but I believe it would be ok to categorize these separately so that storage is Component Area H "Other Areas" and the WC is Component Area D "Hygiene Areas" and the Operations Office as Component C "Technical Services".

Thanks,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Concerning my other question, do you know of any document or example I could look at aside from the standard itself?

Sorry Domenic, I do not. The standard is still fairly new and there is not a lot of supplementary documentation available.
