Do BOMA standards apply to loft office buildings?

Bob Ladner

I'm sure this is an unusual request but I would appreciate your input on this issue:

SDI is providing expert testimony on a court case and the defendant states the BOMA Standards do not apply to a six story, multi-tenant, loft office building. It is my opinion that BOMA methodology is the industry standard and does apply.

In your experience, is the office standard the correct standard? How would you respond to the statement that "Loft office buildings typically do not use the BOMA Standard"?

Hi Bob,

The BOMA office standards have been developed to be applied to all types of office buildings regardless of architectural style.
