Question about Column "Q" (Rentable Area) ??

Hi,

Referring to Chart 3 on pages 12-13 of Ansi/Boma 2010. What is the reason for showing 2 different calculations for arriving at Rentable Area?

In column Q it says N*O or H*P ???

Which one should I use? I get slightly different results between the 2. Usually just a few sq.ft. but still. I even get 2 slightly different results when I do the calculations in the example summary!

Can you shed a little light? Client wants clarification and I don't know how to explain it to them ...

Thanks!

Hi Shawn,

I think the variation you are seeing is due to rounding. If your input values have more decimal places, you should see a closer result between the two calculations. I prefer N*O. Ultimately, the building total of column Q should be equal to the building total of column F.
