Allocation of Common Areas

I might be missing this in the 2010 Retail Standard but where is the calculation for allocating the common areas to the GLA? It seems the Global Summary just stores the data common area measurement but doesn't do anything with it.

I was just reading through the Mixed-use Standard and caught the line about Common Areas are not allocated back to the GLA. Kind of answers my question.
