Exterior Walls

Just looking for some clarification on Chart 2 - Wall Priority Diagram. Wondering what you would measure to when the space class is adjacent to an exterior wall? For example an janitor closet that is in the corner of the building on two exterior walls? Would you use the dominant portion of the janitor room adjacent to the exterior walls. Most of the illustrations in the manual have the building and floor services in an interior "core". Thanks

Hi Ryan,

Exterior walls, and other perimeter conditions are governed by the IGA (Interior Gross Area) Boundary. There are several IGA Boundary conditions, but generally speaking, Dominant Portion is the most common. In your case, it sounds like Dominant Portion is the correct boundary to employ.
