Measure line clarification: Method A

Lisa Frado

In regards to the measure line, the exterior wall is defined as....."outermost wall or architectural treatment...". I would like to request clarification if a door opening (for an exit door or an overhead door) would be considered an architectural treatment?

We are trying to determine if the exterior measure line needs to jog in to the surface of the recessed overhead doors, or if the measure line should continue straight across the door width in line with the outermost face of the adjacent exterior wall.

Our confusion seams from the fact that the exhibit 2 determination points note that the ...."measure line following the line of all the exterior walls of the building AT THE FLOOR LEVEL". The fact that it notes floor level makes us wonder if we need to jog the measure line back to the face of a recessed door (as it is the door that touches the FLOOR, as opposed to the wall touching the floor). Thanks much

You do not need to account for the recess of the door in this scenario
